My first race after turning professional, and a PRO SERIES event. I finished 14th in the women’s pro field.
I lost contact with the lead group on the swim, which left me riding alone for much of the bike. On the run I started conservatively and was able to hold the pace through the second half.
What I lacked was preparation for how a pro race actually unfolds — the way packs form and when to fuel are both different from age group racing. Experiencing that first-hand this early is the most valuable thing I took away.
